About Ukrainian language and culture
Ukrainian or українська мова is the official language of Ukraine and is listed among the official languages of Crimea and the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic. The language is spoken natively by approximately 35 million people. Ukrainian is one of the most melodic languages in the world. Its speakers have contributed significant innovations to the world, such as the first prototype of the modern X-ray machine, as well as vaccines against cholera and the bubonic plague. Ukraine is home to seven World Heritage Sites, including the beautiful Saint Sophia Cathedral and the remains of the ancient Greek settlement of Chersonesus. The Tunnel of Love, located in the town of Klevan, is one of the most romantic places in the world. The 5-kilometer-long tunnel is actually a section of an old railway line surrounded by arches formed by the intertwining canopies of trees.
